The Earth is around 4.5 billion years old, and we have been blessed enough to live in a time of Garfield Kart Furious Racing. I’ve been looking for an excuse to upgrade my GPU to a NVIDIA RTX A6000 and I am going to have to now, playing with anything less powerful would take away from the experience and be disrespectful.

This game will ruin all other video games for you, and possibly ruin women for you too, foods won’t taste as they once did after playing this game. You’ll soon realize all of the things you once desired will all start to seem meaningless after playing Garfield Kart Furious Racing, and it’s all worth it.

PROS

-It’s still Tomb Raider.

While not as good as Tomb Raider (2013), the meat and potatoes of the new Tomb Raider games/Uncharted games is still there, and I eat that kind of gameplay up, so if you liked the game before it, then it’s worth picking up on deep discount.

CONS

-Too much running around and pressing X. 

Crates, treasures, ammo, fallen enemies, and dead animals litter the levels and you have to scavenge them constantly, this really brings the action to a screeching halt. They really should just give Lara more ammo to carry and have one or two big ammo boxes per area, the treasures are fun to look for, so those can stay too, but get rid of everything else. 

-Too much crafting. 

The game thinks it’s Minecraft or something, on top of always having to pick up items, you now have to craft certain items to use them, this even happens during combat….and it isn’t one of those “fun tense” moments when it happens, but rather a “fuck really….you’re really making me do this” kind of moments.

-Lara’s face. 

I didn’t have any big issue with Lara’s more human face in Tomb Raider (2013), I mean she can’t look like a PlayStation 1 cartoon forever, but they seemed to have nerfed her face a bit in this game. If you look at screenshots from Tomb Raider (2013), Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider, she takes a slight whack with the ugly stick in each game.

-The Story (MILD SPOILERS).

Same as the game before it, Lara has daddy issues………and something with some weird woods folk you run into, there is another girl like Lara but she has red hair something?

QUALITY OF LIFE IMPROVEMENTS

-Mods.

Tomb Raider 2013

I remember playing this game on the PS3 almost a decade ago and enjoying it. I am glad that I decided to revisit it, because it still holds up. Tomb Raider (2013) is the modern update on the Tomb Raider series which looks and feels a lot like the Uncharted series, which funny enough took inspiration from the original Tomb Raider games, if you remember when Uncharted first came out, some people would refer to it as Dude Raider lel. 

Lara is a very likable protagonist, and I feel like some of that comes from her willingness to fight. She is always getting her ass kicked, yet never stops fighting. When Lara is defeated it is usually followed by a very gruesome death scene, which I think suits how her character would go out, someone that tough could only be defeated by a spike impaling her while falling down a waterfall.

I am mostly pleased with the modern look of Lara Croft, but the nerfing of her fun bags isn’t true to the source material, are the developers implying that busty women can’t be heroic? They should have just done a full body scan of 2013 Kat Dennings and called it a day. Then again I should just be glad this game was released in 2013 and not in 2022, there is no telling what kind of potato head mess they’d try to present as Lara if the series was rebooted now instead of a few years ago. 

I don’t have any big complaints about this game other than that sometimes the quick time events get to be a bit much, so if you like action games then it’s worth picking up on sale.

OVERALL THOUGHTS

The walking from your apartment to your 3rd shift convenience store job, and then completing mundane tasks has a very comfy feel to it. I had some old sea hag yell at me for no reason, so even the customer service element is very realistic. It also looks like the inside of a Japanese convenience store, complete with girly magazines and a knock off Asahi beer! Sadly despite the little bit of coziness, this game offers very little in both play time and in scares. I am not saying you won’t get something out of this game, just don’t expect much.

🥞🥞 YESH - A bad time, but has a sliver of entertainment.

PROS

-This is one of the most visually pleasing movies I have ever seen, almost every camera shot was pleasing to the eye. Whichever person or persons was in charge of making all of that magic come together, please give them many more movies to make. If you were to watch this movie on mute, you’d think it was a fucking masterpiece!

-The Batsuit looked really slick and functional, as much as I love the 1989 Tim Burton Batsuit, Batman literally could not move his head in that rubber contraption. 

-The Batmobile has a unique look for the film, it resembles a old school muscle car over the more modern tank Batmobiles.

CONS

-Political agenda being pushed halfway through the movie really snapped me back into reality and took me out of the movie, it was pretty impossible to enjoy the second half after that.

-Pacing is too slow, this 3 hour movie could have easily been wrapped up in 2 hours.

-Story is uninteresting. 

THE CAST

TWINKLE VAMPIRE

I wasn’t a big fan of his emo Bruce Wayne, but he looked good in the Batsuit, although you could put any dork in a Batsuit and he’d look 10 times cooler.

LIEUTENANT LANDO GORDON

I was really happy to see Billy Dee Williams return to the Batman franchise to play Commissioner Gordan. Fun fact, this same actor played Harvey Dent in the Tim Burton Batman movies. 

LENNY KRAVITZ’S 2X4 

I was all on board for this Catwoman in the trailer since in the face she seemed to look the part. Unfortunately around the 1 hour and 40 minute mark of the film, she breaks all immersion from the film by pushing a forced political agenda. There was no need for added nonsense in the film and it left me with a very gross feeling inside for the remaining 1 hour and 20 minutes.

THE REDDITOR

A cool take on The Riddler, and it’s been ages since The Ridder has got any love in the film franchise. 

COLIN FARRELL IN A FAT SUIT

Colin was an awesome Penguin, and the best character. One of my favorite scenes which happens in the first part of the film, when I still had hope, was a car chase scene between The Penguin and Batman. 

CARMINE FALCONE

The based foot chad butler from Mr. Deeds is a main villain lmao, you’re underestimating the sneakiness sir. 

ALFRED PENNYWORTH 

Alfred is in this movie in some capacity.
