Shower With Your Dad Simulator 2015: Do You Still Shower With Your Dad?

I honestly can’t ever remember taking a shower with the old man, not to say that it never happened. But I do remember walking in on him draining the old sea monster once, it looked like he was holding 2 12oz cans of Pepsi-Cola stacked up on top of each other. Did my Dad live near a nuclear power plant growing up? Why the good lord only saw it fit to give me one of those the size of a Tic Tac I’ll never know. Memes aside, the gameplay is actually pretty fun, at least until you run face first into the wrong Dad.

Savage Halloween

This is one of those times I wish Steam had a “Eh, It’s Okay” option. The Halloween theme is dimes, but the actual gameplay is just a bit too vanilla ice cream for me.

The enemies are whatever…..the double jump feels “off” and the switching between your different guns/ammo is annoying, it would be better if it were like Contra where you could run over different power ups to change your guns/ammo.

I might finish it to be a sport, but it’s just kind of okay.

Euro Truck Simulator 2: German Flag Paint Job DLC

Euro Truck Simulator 2: German Flag Paint Job DLC

Das DLC is Wunderbar!!!

In my Euro Truck Simulator 2 lore, my character Diesel Cecil who was born in the USA returns to the Fatherland to drive truck. Big Daddy Diesel Cecil is so proud of his German heritage that he paints his entire truck in the colors of the German flag, he is beloved by Germany and people from all over the world, and you can't put a price tag on that.

Euro Truck Simulator 2

IMMERSION

The sights, the sounds, the shaking of your truck when you start her up or accidently run over a curb are all great. For maximum immersion I’d recommend turning off the lights in your home, making sure your controller’s rumble feature is on, and plugging in a good headset.

I cleared all of the extra pop ups off of the screen, hitting your F1, F2, F3, ect, ect buttons a time or two usually does the trick. So this way if I wanted to look at the GPS or side mirrors, I’d have to make sure they were in the eyesight of my driver, instead of just always being in a pop up window no matter where I was looking. This makes the game a bit more difficult, but it’s all about that immersion.

CONTROLS

It will take a few minutes to get the hang of the controls, but they are pretty easy once you figure them out. I played using a XBOX Series X controller and found it to be a fairly precise and comfortable way to truck across Europe. The default controller layout worked just fine for me, except I unassigned the horn from clicking in the left thumb stick and moved it to the XBOX share button. I kept accidentally hitting the horn when trying to park, and by moving it to the center of the controller, it’s closer to where an actual horn would be placed. If I had a sturdier desk and felt like burning some cash, I’d imagine the steering wheel/pedal controller set up is the way to go.

QUALITY OF LIFE IMPROVEMENTS

While I would recommend playing the game with no music for a trip or two for the immersion, you are going to want some sweet jams sooner or later.

OVERALL THOUGHTS

If you’re curious about it, get it on a deep discount, it is exactly what the game title says, a “Truck Simulator”. It is a very well made game, but I think the key to making the game go from boring to relaxing is to have a really good podcast on in the background.

Sonic Adventure DX

NOSTALGIA FEELS

I’ve never been a big 3D Sonic guy, to be honest I think this is the only 3D Sonic game I’ve ever played. I still have a pretty good memory of seeing Sonic 2 for the first time on my cousin’s SEGA Genesis back in the day, and I still have a pretty good memory of seeing Sonic Adventure for the first time at a video game kiosk in Toys R’ Us. So I’m no stranger to Sonic, it’s just I mostly lost interest in the little blue hedgehog after he left the 2D realm.

I did own this game on the SEGA Dreamcast when the Dreamcast was the current console. Although I was more likely to be caught playing Worms Armageddon, Gauntlet Legends, Marvel vs Capcom 2, Ready 2 Rumble Boxing, Spider-Man, Hydro Thunder, or ECW Hardcore Revolution. Even back then I thought “man, this Sonic in 3D is kind of the drizzling shits lmao.”

MODERN DAY FEELS

So surprisingly, I’ve had a really good time revisiting the 3D hedgehog. The open world layout between stages still confuses me and I get lost constantly the same as I did years ago, and the 3D gameplay still makes me wish I was playing a 2D Sonic instead.

Despite the 3D mess, I found myself feeling very happy revisiting this game, and paying 2 bucks for alcohol free happiness was worth it to me.

QUALITY OF LIFE IMPROVEMENTS

Install the SADX Mod Installer.

When I first played Sonic Adventure DX on Steam, the game felt so choppy and “off” that I ended up losing all of my lives on the very first level (the BB level where the killer whale chases you) Sonic kept falling off of this one loop lol, and I felt like I might want my 2 dollars refunded.

After that I ended up installing the SADX Mod Installer off of the Steam Guides page, and all of my problems were solved. The game ran silky smooth (most important), the graphics were improved, the sound was improved, there was now an icon of the SEGA Dreamcast controller in the controls menu, and you even have the option to freely control the camera with the right thumb stick. The set up was really easy too, it’s one of those mods where you basically just click a couple of buttons and don’t have to even go into the game files, 10/10 would recommend this mod.

OVERALL THOUGHTS

If you played it on the Dreamcast back in the day, you should be able to get something out of this game. If you are a Zoomer who isn’t a furry (VERY RARE) then the aged gameplay might be a turn off. If you do decide to purchase the game, wait until it is on a deep discount, and install the SADX Mod before you fire up the game.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

THERE ARE LIKE 40 OF THESE GAMES

When it comes to Assassin's Creed, so far I’ve really only played through the first game in the series way back in 2008 on the PS Triple. The gameplay was pretty average, a lot of runny, jumpy, stabby actions. I remember hating that storywise everything ended up just being inside some sort of simulation, instead of you actually being in whatever world your adventure takes place in. I was also disappointed that Assassin's Creed Man looked so cool in his assassin gear, but when you returned to the real world you just looked like Adam Sandler in a hoodie.

XBOX Live Games With Gold has thrown several more Assassin’s Creed games my way over the years, but I could only ever bring myself to play any of them for 20 minutes before flaking out. The gameplay appeared to be the exact same in every game, however the 2D Assassin’s Creed games played differently and those games were pretty decent.

I honestly am not sure who is buying these yearly Assassin’s Creed releases. I imagine they are the type of people who’s idea of a good time is watching Late Night with Seth Meyers with a large glass of lukewarm fluoride filled tap water, and laughing at every single punchline. In fact, if you are a woman visiting your date’s house for the first time, and they have a bookshelf with every single Assassin’s Creed game on it, RUN……run for your life, your odds of being turned into a skin suit are great.

I JUST WANT TO BE A PIRATE

The reason I got this game wasn’t for the standard Assassin’s Creed runny, jumpy, stabby gameplay, but it was to get lost inside of a world where I get to be a pirate, and it does a pretty good job of that. Graphically the game looks great, the world is very beautiful to look at as you sail your ship through the crystal blue seas from island to island. It sounds great too, your crew will play instruments and sing sea shanties which help even more to make it feel like you’re a real pirate. I also had a blast (pun intended) exchanging cannon fire with enemy ships, and then when the time was right, boarding and taking it over.

PROS

-Atmosphere.

-Graphics.

-Sound.

-Sea battles.

CONS

-Have to log into a Ubisoft account every time you start up the game.

-The Assassin’s Creedness of it all can be tiresome at times.

OVERALL THOUGHTS

You get to be a pirate, I liked it.
