Verdict Guilty

Pros:

-A throw back to the 16-bit era of fighting games.

-Gameplay felt really really good.

-You can run through all of the achievements in about 3 hours or less.

Cons:

-While I enjoyed it’s naturally low level of difficulty, it may have been a little bit TOO easy at times.

Mains:

-Minso, the most enjoyable character sprite to look at, and has a doggo attack.

-Reese, a Dhalsim from Street Fighter clone.

-Yohan, a mad man with bombs, his attacks were so chaotic that playing as him or against him always felt fun and challenging.

Emily Is Away

TAKE ME BACK BROS!!!

Pros:

-Early-mid 00’s immersion takes you on a nice nostalgia trip.

-Set during the last great era for humankind in the early-mid 00’s, before social media and smartphones turned us all into a bunch of depressed brain dead zombies. Back when your internet usage was MAYBE 40 minutes a week on a desktop computer.

-Nice little details, such as being able to change your AIM avatar to things relevant to the year, like Pirates of the Caribbean, Mean Girls, and 300. Also the ability to change the chat text and background colors, even includes the sound of a door shutting when someone goes offline.

Cons:

-Requires more than one play through to get all of the achievements.

-Emily is kind of a wet blanket.

Cost: Zero Dimes.

Full Controller Support: No, you have to use the 1,2,3 keys and the ENTER button.

Fight'N Rage

Pros:

-Lot’s of bouncing pixels. I am pretty sure the guy who made this was into furry stuff, which hey man, we all have our kinks, no judgment here.

-Challenging boss fights.

Cons:

-I only saw a Normal and Hard mode, you might be able to unlock an Easy mode later on, I’m not sure, but an Easy mode would have been nice since I was playing the game solo.

-A save feature would have been nice. I made it to some guy called Attary who looked like King from Tekken, at that point it was close to dinner time and I chose an Italian sub from Jersey Mike’s over the game.

Postal 2

I’ve so far only made it to the end of Tuesday in the game due to the controller support being ultra sloppy, but I plan on finishing it eventually. I love the humor in the game and the Original XBOX era of graphics is charming. Outside of the controller issues the game has a really “comfy” feel to it, if that makes any sense.

Pros:

-A video game made before everyone pretended to be offended by everything on Twitter.

-A video game made before Twitter.

-Features my hero Gary Coleman.

Cons:

-The controller support is barely functional at times, and anytime I’d change around some of the buttons, it would make some of the other buttons not function properly, you will need to keep a keyboard nearby, which makes this hard to play plugged into a TV.

Controller Support: Eh, in an uncomfortable nightmare world sort of way…...ya, kind of?

Postal

Pros:

-FREE

-Shooting people is fun for like 20 minutes.

Cons:

-I know this is a game that came out for PC in 1997, but man using a 360 controller feels super sloppy.

-My hero Gary Coleman is nowhere to be found in this game.

Controller Support: Yes

Chex Quest HD

-As a Laptop Chad, this thing ran about as good as Microsoft Flight Simulator would have on my laptop, this is a tongue in cheek game that is basically an AD. It would have made more sense to tone down the hardware demand, that way more people would be able to play it….and more people would be tempted to buy delicious Chex cereal.

Capcom Beat Em' Up Bundle

Gifted to me by a Hungarian hop enthusiast, this Capcom Beat Em' Up Bundle really packs a.......dare I say.....PUNCH!

It’s been 8 months since I played this game, so I can’t give the most in-depth review on each game, but I don’t remember having a bad time with any of the games.

Final Fight: Inspired the superior Streets of Rage series. Has Poison in it, HOLY YUMMOLA!

Captain Commando: I have fond vivid memories of playing this game in elementary school with my buddies back in the day. You get to play as a baby in a mech suit.

The King Of Dragons: Enjoyable medieval beat em’ up.

Knights Of The Round: Another enjoyable medieval beat em’ up.

Warriors Of Fate: Enjoyable samurai beat em’ up.

Armored Warriors: Enjoyable mech suit beat em’ up.

Battle Circuit: Enjoyable insane beat em’ up.

Pros: Features 7 arcade beat em’ ups.

Cons: No Alien vs Predator, a childhood arcade favorite of mine. Probably some sort of licensing issue.

Controller Support: Yes
